These reclaimed lime beds provide an excellent area for short walks and bird watching.
The industrial past of the area creates unique conditions that allow many unusual species to thrive. The presence of salt has enabled many seaside plants to establish and the recently used lime beds provide ideal conditions for the rare Dingy skipper butterfly.
There is a choice of small/ large circular walk or figure of eight combination. There are several bench and resting points around the site and two wheelchair accessible bird hides.
Further paths lead to other parts of the Northwich Woodlands, but these often have more uneven surfaces and gradients greater than 1:10.
