The Architect is a classic pub restaurant within Chester’s city walls overlooking the racecourse at Roodee owned by Brunning and Price.

The restaurant is named it the Architect in honour of Thomas Harrison, a prolific Georgian architect who designed the Grosvenor Bridge and much of Chester Castle, among many other classical structures. He designed the building as his own residence, and lived there for many years. Charles Cockerell, a fellow architect and contemporary, described the house as ‘..well conceived, broad, elegant and simple’.
