Lindow Common is a small area of heathland on the outskirts of Wilmslow. It might be small, but it is special in a number of ways: it is a Local Nature Reserve, has national recognition as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is a leftover of a previously much more widespread landscape – ancient lowland heath. On the site, many information boards, at a good height for wheelchair users, detail the special flora and fauna of the reserve.
