The 75 bedroom Grosvenor Park Road property opened in June 2019 in time for the city’s iconic racing season. The hotel features a fine-dining restaurant from award winning MasterChef champion Simon Wood. The 2015 BBC champion opened his first restaurant in 2017 on First Street in Manchester and its constantly evolving seasonal menus created with local produce have been hugely popular winning local and national awards including a recommendation in the 2019 edition of the MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland.  

The design of the 96 cover Wood Chester is a relaxed natural environment in which to enjoy his unintimidating fine dining.  As in Manchester, the heart of the restaurant is the chef’s table and theatre kitchen providing the perfect vista for guests to watch Simon and his team as they work.
