Delamere Forest Park is ideal for cycling. Smooth sandy tracks with only a few gentle hills provide an ideal surface. Mature Scots pine, wetland and Blakemere provide the ideal setting for for an afternoon’s family cycle ride.

A guide map for the forest available from the Visitor Centre can also be used to follow the waymarked cycle trails or to create your own routes through the forest. For the more adventurous try cycling to the top of Old Pale to enjoy superb panoramas of the Cheshire countryside or on a clear day views as far away as the Liverpool city skyline.

Please be alert at all times for other uses of the forest.

After your ride, why not try out the new bike wash at the Visitor Centre, and leave the mud and crud behind!

Try one of our two waymarked cycle trails:

Hunger Hill Trail – start at Delamere Visitor Centre – blue waymarkers – 4 miles – 0.5 hour – easy
Whitemoor Trail – start at Delamere Visitor Centre – white waymarkers – 7 miles – 1 hour – easy

There is also a thriving off-road self-build bike community at Delamere. Delamere Bike Club are working with the Forestry Commission to create new cycling activities in the Forest

Bike hire is also available for all the family, please visit the website for more details and costs www.wirraltracs.co.uk
