We are an innovative and responsible business, improving the lives of our customers and providing jobs, across England, Scotland and Wales.

Our customers are among the millions of lower income families frozen out of the mainstream credit market. We help them buy the household essentials and home comforts that most people take for granted, such as washing machines and TVs. We are proud of what we do – and we do it with absolute integrity.

At BrightHouse we believe that lower income families should have access to quality household goods and services.

We are a major retailer with a national network of stores and significant logistics, supply chain and engineering capabilities. We are a well-run and carefully managed company where everyone, from the shopfloor to the boardroom, takes great pride in providing top quality products and outstanding service to our customers.

Today, BrightHouse is owned by a consortium of fund managers and investors. Our chairman, Stuart Deane, joined us in the summer of 2018. Hamish Paton became chief executive in October 2016 having been with the business for 10 years. Alex Maby was appointed chief financial officer in 2013.

BrightHouse has shops on High Streets and in Shopping Centres across England, Scotland and Wales. These are where good service begins – at the heart of the communities they serve.

Manchester’s Trafford Park is the site of our central distribution centre, from where we deliver to a network of local depots – which in turn handle delivery to the customer and installation of the product.

Product repairs and refurbishments are either carried out locally or at our service centre in Trafford Park.

We also operate a state-of-the-art call centre in Sheffield to help with all kinds of customer enquiries.

Our Head Office in Watford is home to the business functions that support our operations, including Marketing, Credit & Risk, Compliance and Customer Relations.

Everyone throughout the business plays an important part in delivering the top quality service that keeps customers coming back.

At the heart of everything we do is integrity: treating customers fairly, providing great jobs, nurturing our communities, building mutually beneficial business relationships, protecting the environment.

Our success is built on doing – and being seen to do – the right thing. That is why we make a point of operating within the letter and spirit of all relevant regulation. It is the reason why we support the work of leading debt charities. And it is why we endeavour to go further and set the best example.

At BrightHouse, we passionately believe that you should treat other people as you would like to be treated. That goes for the way we treat customers and the way we treat our staff, from the boardroom to the shop floor.

Our stores are welcoming and friendly places, not only for customers to visit but also for our staff to work in. Just as our staff are the eyes and ears of the business – getting to know their regulars and understanding their problems – so too are their own views and suggestions listened to, respected and valued. We aim to be an employer of choice and we devote a lot of time and effort to training our staff, in our stores, service centre, call centre and head office.

Our workforce reflects the diversity of our customers and the communities we serve. We foster an environment where all staff, job applicants, customers, contractors and suppliers are treated fairly. We take our community responsibilities very seriously and encourage all our people to assist a wide range of charities that strike a chord with staff and customers.
