Boots is now a household name with stores all over the world and a number of hugely successful own-brand ranges.  It’s risen from humble beginnings to become the well-known and loved company it is today.  This timeline charts the development of the business from its first days as a herbalist store in Nottingham in the mid-1800s to its position as a modern global brand.

– We have 2,485 stores, 618 Boots Opticians practices, and 503 Boots Hearingcare locations

– Over 90% of the UK population is within 10 minutes of a Boots store

–  We employ around 56,000 Boots UK colleagues

With around 22,000 healthcare providers of which around 6,500 are registered pharmacists

–  14.4 million active Boots Advantage Card members

Of which around 90% are women

We are committed to offering our customers innovative and fantastic products such as our own brands No7, Boots Pharmaceuticals, Boots Soltan, Botanics, SEVENTEEN and Soap & Glory, together with ’only at Boots’ exclusive products including Smashbox and Champneys.

We also continue to meet the changing needs of our customers by adding exclusive new ranges as well as successfully launching exciting own brand products including No7 Protect and Perfect ADVANCED Serum, the clinically proven skincare product which provides genuine long-term anti-ageing benefits.

Almost all our innovative, unique products are developed in our in-house product research and development testing and customer evaluation facilities in Nottingham, UK.
