Backford Belles Ice Cream

Enjoy award-winning ice cream at the Backford Belles shop which is set in traditional sandstone farm buildings. Backford Belles is a family run business established in 2009, making ice cream from the rich creamy milk from their herd of jersey cows, which you can see grazing in the fields. It has become a great venue to spend some quality time with the people you like to be with. There’s plenty of indoor & outdoor seating with a family friendly atmosphere so that you can  relax with a cup of tea/latte/hot chocolate etc. and let the kids play on the climbing frame, swings and toy tractors in the large grass area. Choose one of the various cones, have two scoops or add toppings/fudge stick, the choice is yours! Because the ice cream is so yummy, Backford Belles also make milkshakes using a scoop of any of the flavours on display, which is proving very popular.

There are always the calves, alpacas, hens and guinea pigs to visit and if you are small enough (toddler) some small tractors to drive on. From July onwards, attend the annual maize “maze” to have fun running or walking around which is free to all customers.
